Computer memory MSI SLI X99A
The RAM memory expands the memory capacity of MSI SLI X99A by 256GB. The memory module has 288 Pin DIMM and a voltage of 1,2 volt. This computer memory was tested by us for MSI SLI X99A. This ensures that this memory expansion can also be utilised together with the original RAM used in SLI X99A.Information on memory configuration
The following technical specifications should be considered in advance:
- The system supports RDIMM and RDIMM 3DS (Registered DIMM) or LRDIMM and LRDIMM 3DS (Load Reduced DIMM) memory modules. Large memory capacities can be realised with LRDIMM 3DS modules.
- RDIMM and RDIMM 3DS memory modules cannot be operated together with LRDIMM and LRDIMM 3DS main memories.
- If a memory expansion is to be made with the already existing RAM memories, it must be checked which basic memory technology (RDIMM / LRDIMM) is available.
- Memory slots without a processor may not be used.
- If memory modules are provided with higher speeds than specified by the system, the memory speed is automatically adjusted to the system specifications.

The MSI SLI X99A can be upgrade to a maximum memory capacity of 2TB / 512GB according to manufacturer. This is more than MSI has listed in their technical specification. There are different reasons, why more memory is possible:
- improved production processes in the memory technology enable higher memory capacities
- new BIOS-Version support higher memory capacities
- the information of the MSI datasheet concerning the maximum RAM amount for the SLI X99A is not up to date.
