The memory increases the RAM of your Supermicro X12SPi-TF server by 256GB. The offered DDR4 RAM memory has a speed of 3200MHz PC4-25600-R 8Rx4 (2S4Rx4). These are RDIMM (ECC Registered) memory modules. The memory module has 288 Pin DIMM and a voltage of 1,2 volt. This computer memory was tested by us for Supermicro X12SPi-TF. This ensures that this memory expansion can also be utilised together with the original RAM used in X12SPi-TF.Information on memory configuration
The following technical specifications should be considered in advance:
- The system supports RDIMM and RDIMM 3DS (Registered DIMM) or LRDIMM and LRDIMM 3DS (Load Reduced DIMM) memory modules. Large memory capacities can be realised with LRDIMM 3DS modules.
- RDIMM and RDIMM 3DS memory modules cannot be operated together with LRDIMM and LRDIMM 3DS main memories.
- If a memory expansion is to be made with the already existing RAM memories, it must be checked which basic memory technology (RDIMM / LRDIMM) is available.
- When using a multiprocessor system, the memory slots should always be configured identically for each CPU.
- Memory slots without a processor may not be used.
- If memory modules are provided with higher speeds than specified by the system, the memory speed is automatically adjusted to the system specifications.

What is the maximum memory capacity of my Supermicro X12SPi-TF?
The maximum memory size of the X12SPi-TF is 2TB / 1TB according to manufacturer.
The phs memory® option for my Supermicro X12SPi-TF is faster than the existing RAM - Is this a problem?
If your system is limited to a slower memory speed, the "Fallback Speed Setting" in the SPD of the phs memory® RAM-Modules ensures the support of slower memory settings down to the given memory speed.
Why is the maximum RAM amount of phs memory® for X12SPi-TF higher than the maximum RAM limit listed by Supermicro?
The Supermicro X12SPi-TF can be upgrade to a maximum memory capacity of 2TB / 1TB according to manufacturer. This is more than Supermicro has listed in their technical specification. There are different reasons, why more memory is possible:
- improved production processes in the memory technology enable higher memory capacities
- new BIOS-Version support higher memory capacities
- the information of the Supermicro datasheet concerning the maximum RAM amount for the X12SPi-TF is not up to date.
- we tested and verified the higher memory limit in our overRAMing project.
