Why is the maximum RAM amount of phs memory® for S7016 higher than the maximum RAM limit listed by Tyan?
The Tyan S7016 can be upgrade to a maximum memory capacity of 576GB / 144GB according to manufacturer. This is more than Tyan has listed in their technical specification. There are different reasons, why more memory is possible:
- improved production processes in the memory technology enable higher memory capacities
- new BIOS-Version support higher memory capacities
- the information of the Tyan datasheet concerning the maximum RAM amount for the S7016 is not up to date.
- we tested and verified the higher memory limit in our overRAMing project.
