The memory increases the RAM memory of HP Z600 by 16GB. The memory module has 240 Pin DIMM and a voltage of 1,5 volt. You will profit with the high quality RAM expansion of phs memory®, as well as the support of our memory specialists.

Note when selecting the memory modules

RDIMM memory can only be used starting from motherboard revision C2 (Intel 5520 chipset).

Here's how to check if you have a motherboard with a C2 revision:

- Start the BIOS setup menu. In the System Information Menu the Boot Block Date is displayed

- If the Boot Block Date shows the date 01/07/10, it is a C2 revision

- If the Boot Block Date shows the date 01/30/09, it is a B3-based system

Alternatively, you can use the HP Performance Advisor software. Here you can find the information under System Configuration and Baseboard ID.

- All B3-based systems have the value: 0AE8h

- The system with the C2 revision has the value: 0B54h

RDIMM and ECC UDIMM must not be used together.

If your system is limited to a slower memory speed, the "Fallback Speed Setting" in the SPD of the phs memory® RAM-Modules ensures the support of slower memory settings down to the given memory speed.

Why is the maximum RAM amount of phs memory® for Z600 higher than the maximum RAM limit listed by HP?

The HP Z600 can be upgrade to a maximum memory capacity of 192GB / 48GB according to manufacturer. This is more than HP has listed in their technical specificatio. There are different reasons, why more memory is possible:
- improved production processes in the memory technology enable higher memory capacities
- new BIOS-Version support higher memory capacities
- the information of the HP datasheet concerning the maximum RAM amount for the Z600 is not up to date.
- we tested and verified the higher memory limit in our overRAMing project.
